Editorial Policy

Last updated: September 25, 2026

QBigPro publishes practical AV receiver help designed to make setup, settings, and troubleshooting easier to understand. This policy explains how topics are selected, how guides are researched, and how commercial considerations are kept separate from editorial decisions.

How we select and prepare guides

Each guide begins with a specific task or question an owner of a particular receiver model may need to solve. We favor focused topics—such as a reset, a calibration run, or a specific error—where clear steps, expected results, and troubleshooting provide more value than a short answer alone.

Writers check current first-party documentation—primarily the manufacturer’s owner’s manual, online help guide, firmware release notes, and support articles—for button names, menu paths, feature behavior, compatibility, and important limitations. Guides are written in original language and may include a concise answer, numbered steps, expected results, troubleshooting, frequently asked questions, and links to relevant official sources.

Accuracy, diagrams, and version differences

Receiver menus can vary by firmware version, region, and model variant. When a meaningful variation is known, the guide explains it instead of presenting one screen as universal.

Diagrams are included when a visual reference makes a button, port, or setting easier to find. They are original illustrations drawn from the manufacturer’s documentation, not photographs of a specific unit, and should not be treated as an exact image of every reader’s receiver or on-screen menu. We do not claim hands-on testing when it did not occur.

Sources and links

We prefer first-party sources for claims about Sony, Yamaha, Denon, Onkyo, and other manufacturers’ products, and link to them when they help a reader verify a feature or follow changing instructions. A link does not imply that a manufacturer or another third party sponsors or endorses QBigPro. External pages are controlled by their respective owners and can change independently.

Safety

Guides that involve wiring, power cycling, or firmware updates note when the receiver should be switched off or unplugged and when an update must not be interrupted. If a receiver shows a persistent protection or fault message, guides recommend contacting the manufacturer’s service department rather than opening the unit.

Updates and corrections

Guides are reviewed and updated when a meaningful firmware change, credible reader report, broken reference, or factual problem is identified. We may correct, expand, consolidate, redirect, or remove material that is no longer accurate or useful. Article dates identify publication and update activity, but a recent date does not eliminate the need to check critical instructions against the receiver in front of you.

To report a possible error, follow the Corrections Policy and include the page URL, the disputed wording or step, and any supporting first-party source.

Editorial independence and advertising

Advertising and analytics may support the operation of QBigPro, but advertisers do not select guide topics, write instructions, or receive approval over editorial conclusions. QBigPro does not currently use affiliate links. Sponsored material or affiliate relationships, if introduced, will be identified where a reader would reasonably need that information.
